Option 01 : Luang Prabang City tour
We start our city tour with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts from the Royal period in Luang Prabang. We continue to visit the city’s oldest temples, the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roof sweeping low to the ground, representing classical Lao architecture, the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham. The Art and Ethnology Centre to learn about the culture and history of some of the diverse ethnic groups those make up the rich tapestry of the population of Laos.

We will then climb to the top of Mount Phousi to explore the sacred gilded stupa and to enjoy the panoramic view of the city and the sun setting over the Mekong River.

Dissenting the mountain your will find yourself in the midst of the famous Luang Prabang Night Market, where you can find a unique selection of handmade textiles and handicrafts locally made by both ethnic Lao and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

Your evening is free to treat yourself a spa treatment or massage, do some shopping or relax at your hotel.

 
Option 02 : Luang Prabang- Khuang Si waterfall
This morning you have the option and opportunity to rise early and participate in the daily morning ritual of ‘Alms Giving’, you will experience saffron-clad monks collecting offerings or ‘Alms’ from faithful local residents. This tradition is unique to Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the daily procession.

We visit the Phosi Market with its array of offerings including dried buffalo skin, local tea, saltpeter and hill-tribe weavings as well as vegetables and livestock. Laos is known for its traditional crafts, and today we visit the ethnic villages of Ban Ouay, (Hmong), Ban Ou (Lowland Lao) and Ban Thapene (Khmu). Continue driving to the beautiful Khuang Si Waterfalls, on arrival at the Kuang Sii Falls you will have the opportunity to cool off with a refreshing swim in the topaz pools below the falls, walk along the forest trails and visit the Bear Sanctuary. We return to Luang Prabang by afternoon and continue to Ban Phanom, a well-known weaving village before returning to the city by late evening to watch the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath.

 
Option 03 : Boat trip to Pak Ou Cave
We board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. En route, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where the local specialty of rice wine is produced. We also have time to visit Ban Xangkhong, Ban Xienglek, small villages well known for silk weavings and for Saa (jute) Papermaking.
 
Option 04 : Luang Prabang Elephant Riding and Kayaking
In the morning we start our exciting day trip by leaving Luang Prabang by car. You will proceed to the Nam Khan valley about 15 km out of town to reach the beautiful "Elephant Village". The rugged mountains in front of you and the green lush countryside is the setting for the ultimate elephant experience. Here we find time to relax and the right place for great activities.

Now you will be introduced to our protected Asian elephants in the project area and start your scenic elephant ride. Enjoy the new perspective and the wonderful nature on this 1 hr. ride through the Nam Khan River and forest. Afterwards a boat will take you to the amazing cascades and pools of the Tad Sae waterfalls. (Waterfall dries between February & August.)

Hang out at the lunch break and enjoy either the refreshing cascades or our mountainous view terrace for your lunch. After a short instruction you will experience the life along the Nam Khan river. It will be a soft 3-4 hr. kayaking tour back into town, with just a few small rapids (depending on season). Even for inexperienced paddlers, this is an option to get into it. Village stops along the way are included as well as a pickup service at the arrival point in Luang Prabang.

Option 05 : Half day Living Land Farm
This morning we head out to Living Land Farm, a working community farm approximately 5kms outside the town. There you will learn all about the rice growing process and have an opportunity to participate in seasonal farm activities such as identifying viable rice seeds, ploughing with a buffalo, hand planting, weeding and harvesting rice and threshing rice seed.

You may be picking vegetable’s form the organic garden or catching fish to cook for your all natural, organic lunch where there will be a variety of local rice products for you to sample.

 
Option 06 : Morning Cooking Class (join class)
Following breakfast at your hotel you will embark on a full day cooking class by starting at the local market where your chef will explain the different herbs and spices used in Lao cooking and purchase ingredients for today’s dishes. From the market you will head out to Tamarind Gardens Cooking School set out of town amongst fish ponds and tropical gardens.
 
Your menu today will include:
Varieties of jeow: the fundamental Lao spicy dipping sauces.
Mok Pa, a popular dish of fish steamed with herbs in banana leaves.
Tamarind’s specialty: lemongrass stuffed with chicken & herbs.
Orlarm, Luang Prabang eggplant based specialty: delicious & unusual.
Dessert course: a surprise!
And of course you’ll learn the art of perfecting sticky rice and its eating etiquette
 
Option 07 : Sunset Cruise dinner
We will bring you where you will have a joining Sunset Cruise (Nava Mekong) on the Mekong River, taking just a relaxing at your hotel.

Depart from Luang Prabang at 05:30 pm.
Sunset Cruise.
Dinner in front of Vat Chomphet and Phousi Mountain.
Traditional Orchestra and dance from local people .

Option 08 : Baci at local village with traditional dance show
You can freshen up for our evening at the Traditional Baci & Cultural Show. We transfer you to the local village where Baci ceremony takes place. Out of respect for the nature of this traditional performance we request that you wear formal dress and we will provide you with a traditional Lao shoulder scarf.

Your full day city tour begins with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. We then enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. Today, we also visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham. In the afternoon, we visit the Arts and Ethnology Centre to learn about Laos’ many ethnic cultures before we head out of town to see the weaving villages of Ban Xiengkhong and Ban Xienglek. We then return to the city for a visit to Wat Mai. We then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River. 3/ LUANG PRABANG – PAK OU CAVES

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the boat pier.
From there, we embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine.

On return, we disembark the boat to take a short drive to Ban Phanom, a village famous for its hand weaving. Then, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

4/ LUANG PRABANG – KHOUANGSI WATERFALL
You will be picked up from your hotel for a tour to Khouangsi Waterfall with our local guide.
You will visit local village of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay and Ban Thapene. Then, we drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can splash around in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest paths. We return to Luang Prabang by late afternoon and you will be transferred back to your hotel.

DAY 01 : Arrival – Vientiane
Arrivals at Vientiane International Airport by fly. Greet and welcome by our local guide & transfer to the hotel for checking in (Early check in possible upon rooms available).
 

Option 01 : We start to visit the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. Then visit Wat Sisaket, with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues. We continue to see Patuxay Monument, which is Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. We also visit the national icon of Laos, That Luang Stupa.

Option 02 : You can relax and enjoy a few drinks watching the sunset over the Mekong River, explore the Night Market and take in some of the city’s nightlife. Overnight in Vientiane.

 
 
DAY 02 : Vientiane
Have breakfast at the hotel.
 
Option 03 : We head out of the city and make our way to Nam Ngum, a huge reservoir created by damming the Nam Ngum River. On arrival at Nam Ngum Lake, we embark on a motor boat visiting one of the islands for one and a half hours. We take a short walk to explore the lifestyle of the local fishermen. On return, [if time permits], perhaps you might want to experience gambling at the legal Lao casino located in the valley where you can also enjoy a beautiful view of the lake. We return to Vientiane at the evening to see the sunset over the Mekong River and explore the Night Market.

Option 04 : We start to visit The National Museum, formerly known as the Revolutionary Museum, which exhibits artifacts, photos and legends of Laos’s fighters and leaders from ancient times to the revolutionary, Phathet Lao, period. We also visit Buddha Park (25 km to the South of Vientiane) which are approximately 200 religious images dating back over 500 years, which were created by a mysterious monk spreading his philosophy on life and revealing his ideas about the universe. Overnight in Vientiane.

 
DAY 03 : Vientiane – Vang Vieng - Vientiane
Breakfast, either you wish to depart Vientiane for your home country or you may extend your stay 1 more night to experience Laos as your choice of traveling below.
 
Option 05 : We drive 165km away north of Vientiane to enjoy country side of Laos where there is the most beautiful landscape and limestone karst caves and river. We return to Vientiane by late evening. Overnight in Vientiane.

We return to the Mekong Riverside in the late afternoon for observing the sunset. Then, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

You will be picked up from your hotel for a city tour & Buddha Park with our local guide. 4/ VIENTIANE – BUFFALO MOUNTAIN (FULL DAY TOUR with Lunch )
 
1/ VIENTIANE – HALF DAY CITY TOUR
From your hotel, we will be transferred from Vientiane to Ban Hatkhai, where a long-tail boat takes us up-stream on the Nam Mang River, before continuing along the smaller Houay Xai stream, one of its many tributaries. A 2 hours trek passes under an evergreen canopy, while slowly gaining height.
A picnic lunch is served on the way. The magnificent pair of waterfalls, Tad Xay and Pha Xay and only about 800 m apart, are particularly beautiful and thundering during and after the rainy season. Tad Xay has a pool which is great for bathing. We'll be there in the early afternoon. From here, a pick-up takes the group to Ban Hatkhai, from where we return to Vientiane.
 
Approximately: 2 ½ hours transfer/ 1 hour boating / 2 hours trekking
 
Note : In the dry season, when we are not able to take the long-tail boat on Houay Xai stream due to low water, we continue the boat ride further up-steam on the Nam Mang to start our trek at another point. (3 hours trek)

5/ VIENTIANE – NAM NGUM LAKE (FULL DAY TOUR with Lunch)
In the morning, we head out of the city and make our way to Nam Ngum, a huge reservoir created by damming the Nam Ngum River. We stop over at Ban Keun, which is famous for its salt extraction plant and a village that distills the local Lao whiskey. On arrival at Nam Ngum Lake, we embark on a long tail boat visiting fishing villages in the various islets. We take a short walk to explore the lifestyle of the local fishmen.
We return to Vientiane by late evening.
